Hey it's Winter, i need to amuse myself. Let's start yet another thread.

Movie cars. Post a movie that a Maverick or Comet is in and post a picture of the car. See how easy it is to entertain me.

Here you go Daydreamer, from the movie:

It's funny, where i got this picture they listed it as a Mercury Comet and not a Maverick. Wishful thinking on their part.:rollinglaugh:

I'm sorry Mavmenace but there can't be a Maverick in Bullitt as the movie takes place and was filmed in 1968, before our Mavericks. There is a couple of Comets in it though, but they are all 1960's Comets. I did place the Fast Five Maverick in the picture with one of the Comets and that baby is moving big time.

Look:

I wonder how it did on the hills:p

That i can believe as that movie is from the early seventies. It's been awhile since i saw that movie. I started this thread because my son has turned 10 and likes watching the old car chase movies so i thought i would revisit all of them again and watch them with him. As i watch the movies i'll post a picture of the Mavericks and Comets i see in each movie as it comes up. Sorta giving those long dead cars their moment in the sun (or on the internet).

I just watched the movie Hot Rod with my son and there is one Comet GT in it. You can only see the hood and headlight but it's there.

Yeah Zac it is a cool movie. I have loved that movie since i first saw it in 1980. The Willys in the movie is so cool too, if i had the money i would buy one in a heartbeat, park it in the garage next to the Comet (if i could park the Comet in my garage, i can't because it's full of Grabber hoods).:p

Here's an old Canadian classic movie called Cannibal Girls starring Eugene Levy and Andrea Martin from way back in 1973.
Here's Eugene with a Maverick at a gas station, ya gotta dig the hair.

Let's hope this one works with this damn laptop.

In the begining of the show Barter Kings there is a 1974 and up Maverick that you see for a 1/2 second or so. It looks a lot like my Comet except for the much better wheels, body work and not totally dead paint. This Maverick is almost the same colour too.

Take a look:

I have yet too see the show it's on but i'm watching for it.

This has been posted elsewhere, but I hadn't ever seen it (I only know because I searched before posting ). There was a Grabber next to a Mustang in a barn on an episode of American Pickers that aired again this month. The front bumper shot was at a weird angle so I've debated whether it is a 73 or 74. Color looks right for a 74, I just don't feel like looking. :p

Here is the show listing.
