A little while back i went to the Waterdown swap meet and car show (now moved to Rockton). The drive there was a bit wobbly as i had just had by lower ball joints and control arms re and re'd. I got there sorta late as many of the cars had left for the day. When i pulled up to the show car area lo and behold there was a Maverick. So after i park i'm walking around looking at the vendor booths and i look up to where the cars are coming into the show and i see this green Maverick pulling in. My first thought was , hey there's Earl with his greenish Maverick. As this Maverick gets closer i'm wondering why Earl's parking light lenses in his grill are missing. Then i'm thinking that this Maverick is the wrong colour green. I'm really freaked out at this point as i realize that this Maverick is not Earl's but a Maverick i have not seen before. So i see where this guy parks on the field and i proceed to go over to look at and take a few pictures of his car. Turns out that he is not on this website but he does know of it. He's a "lurker" as he called himself. Turns out also that he knew who i was also as after we got to talking he looks at me and says," So this is the Comrick". I must say that that freaked me out a bit as i just met this guy and he knows my interwebs avatar name. The internet really is an information fountain eh. Anyway this Maverick is a 1970 (or as the other board members call them, 19691/2) with the ignition key in the dash. The car is really nice and clean with a nice paint job to boot. Grabber hood and a nice interior. The owners name is Cortez Corley and he is originally from the states but now lives here in Ontario, he's a nice guy who is cool to talk to. He says he has owned this Maverick since the early 2000's. I told Cortez that he should join this board, i guess time will tell. We talked for a bit and then parted ways to go look for Maverick stuff and whatever else. I was thrilled to see a new Maverick and i gave him my phone number and told him of our little crew and our get togethers.............. Mav/Com breakfasts, Mini Meets, Mountain Cruises. Maybe down the road he can join us. Anyway here is a few picture of his very nice Maverick and a couple next to my beater. Hope to see you and your very nice Maverick again Cortez. http://www.waterdownswapmeet.com/ |
