#1 Larry Winter Engine Swap 2
Well guys, I've done it again engine swap 2. The thrust bearing went, causing some vibrations. So out comes a 5.0 roller from the Mav and another 5.0 and 5 speed out of a perfectly good Mustang (such a waste) NOT.. THANKS FOR THE POWER PLANT!! Nice fit but in order to make the 5 speed work right and work with the stock trans mount bracket height you must cut the floor and add an extention to the bracket. Here are some pics

So the engine is in and i pulled the valve covers and found some roller rockers, sweet find!
Pulled the water pump, timing cover and replaced the chain. Installed the timing chain cover and a new water pump. I cut the tranny tunnel so the 5 speed will fit the stock height.

Nice job Larry , i like how you laid out the whole story and the pictures. You did good feller and you should have sold tickets to this event as it is a learning experience. That poor little red Moostang giving up it's heart and soul. But hey it helped another Maverick get it's heart and soul and that 's not too bad.

I'll be glad to see the Mighty Maverick back on the road.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

The first 5 speed i put in last year, i droped the trany bracket to fit the 5 speed , but it lowered the drive shaft angle and was causing some vibritions. This time I used the stock bracket and added some metal to the back for the mount to keep the stock height. So i have the bracket in and fits good. Thanks for the info. The C4, 3 & 4 speeds and 5 speed all have the same measurement from the center output shaft down to the mount position, all though the 5 speed mount is farther back it still needs the same stock position as a C4 and 3 &4 speeds.
