We stayed there for several years when it was the Econo Lodge. It is across the street and south about 1/8 mile from where we stayed last year.

Bump. Still need to make sure nothing else is already on my calendar for that weekend. I hope to make it again this year. I noticed our cars (can't recognize any but Robert's) are in the 2nd to the last photo in the gallery from last year. There's a pole in the way so you can't see much, but I recognize Robert's fender and wheel, and that's where we were parked.

No, it doesn't. I can't drag the Grabber around in the rain, so I am not going to be there.

Unfortunately I'll be taking care of some family business in Joplin again. Doubt seriously I'll have time to drive over, but if it's not raining, who knows?

The weekend didn't turn out half bad. Overcast both days with very little rain during the show on Saturday and Sunday. Received a lot of rain Saturday night but it finished by about 9 AM Sunday. Unfortunately a lot of people feared the weather reports and stayed home. Very small turnout at the event. We had 3 Mavericks at the Show on Saturday, Robert, Elliot and myself. Saw Luke on Friday night and 2 other Mavericks cruising over the weekend as well.

Sad news is the rumor we had heard was confirmed. They will officially announce in November if the show will return to Springfield, MO in 2009. This was the 20th year it has been held in Springfield, MO. It is possible they may relocate it to Little Rock.

Glad to hear it was not a wash-out. I was going to drive over Saturday night but the rain never let up. I hope you got some pics. What time did the rain start Saturday night? Was there much cruising?

I hope they don't move it next year.

Allan, It was good talking to you again. I wish I could have made it to the show. I've always said "maybe next year". I just hope it's still in town next year.

There were lots of people on N. Glenstone, just didn't seem to be a lot of 'street machine' cars cruising. It's sure not the same as it used to be. Of course, the Springfield PD was out in full force to stop the burnouts, even had a helicopter flying over.

It was great talking with you as well Luke.

Cruising was pretty much a wash out on Saturday night. Rained off an on throughout the evening, then rained heavy from about 11 PM until Sunday morning.

We were told that a main reason it may not return to Springfield is that their is more action and spectators out on the streets than at the event itself. I am sure they lost money this year as did the vendors. The weather forecasts had a lot to do with it, and will make their decisions easier. The past 3 years the weather hasn't been good to the event. I will be sad to see it go.
